Pinterest Project #115 Ice Cream Cone Christmas Trees and Olaf!

This project was so much fun.
I saw this on pinterest and normally you would make the ice cream cone trees with green icing...but we are on a Frozen Frenzy in this house so we decided to make them...well frozen!
Olaf even made an appearance. I made him out of styrofoam balls attached with wire so his head even moves from side to side.
Placed all the trees in a painted shoe box with the castle behind that I painted and glued mirrors to for a more glittery effect.

The trees were decorated with sour patch candies that actually look like gumdrops so it worked out perfectly. Pixie sticks of blue were used for the snow on the trees and cotton balls on the base for snow sprinkled with blue pixie sugar as well.

Cracking a smile Cake!

This was my moms birthday cake.
It cracked.
I had all good intentions for this cake
It was to be beautifully iced and fluffy with pink sugar crystals all atop the peaks.
Instead...here is my flat faced cracking a smile cake!

Here is the recipe:

Take a boxed cake mix
Let your 3 year old help make it by stirring and adding all the ingredients...
So far so good
Mix Mix Mix
Pour into cake pans
Slam cake pans down to get air bubbles out...
Turn to the timer on your stove
Get distracted while setting it by your 3 year old
Do not set it
Forget how long the cake is supposed to be in the oven
Take it out too early
Let it cool completely...(umm...not so much)
Ice it beautifully and fluffy ( yeah...ok)
Let it Crack
Add googly eyes.

Simple!

Happy Valentines Day! Pinterest Project...ummm Not sure..

I can't for the life of me remember if I saw this on pinterest or not. I would think I probably did because I am not so great at coming up with cute crafty ideas like this...anyway.
We did this tonight for Miss Emmeline. I cut all the hearts out of paper and left a trail from her bedroom to her gift of the Candy/Valentines Day basket. I hope she loves it. I have set the stage forever now right? LOL
My Gommy/Grandmother used to give me a plastic heart filled with M&M's every year! I loved it
Those are memories I will never forget and I want Emm to have her memories of Valentines Day just like I did...Chocolate!!!!!!!!
I did however take credit for this Holiday. No cupid...No Santa...No tooth fairy...Just Mommy and Daddy.
 I hope she loves it.

Recycling Pumpkins We made a Turkey. Pinterest Project #40

We had a great time making this little Turkey.
I used tape for the feathers and glue for the gobbler on his face.
Next time I would glue the feathers and wings onto the turkey instead of tape..but it was our first try!

Great craft for toddlers to do and lots of fun!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Well this year was a lot different than Last year. Thank God.  Last year we were without power due to Hurricane Sandy coming through. I remember it like it was just yesterday.
I am so Thankful that this year all the little ghosts and goblins got to go trick or treating!
This was Emms first "real" trick or treating outing. We had a blast.
She was saying Trick or Treat before people could open their doors. She was so good and polite.
Mommy was Very Proud of her little pumpkin today.

Mickey Mouse MOO Muffins and Pinterest Project #24

Since Emmeline is quite obsessed with Mickey Mouse my husband decided to make her up a batch of Moo Muffins!
Needless to say she was thrilled and was so excited to help make them and EAT them!

Recipe is adapted from A Rosy Note

2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
3 tbsp. cocoa powder
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup whole milk yogurt
3 ripe bananas, mashed
1/2 cup white chocolate chips

Mix together flour, baking soda, baking powder and cocoa. In a separate bowl cream together the sugars and butter and add the eggs, vanilla, yogurt and bananas. Beat on low until everything is combined. Add the dry ingredients to the wet and mix well.
Fold in the white chocolate chips.

Line muffin pan with paper muffin cups...or grease and flour. Fill each 3/4 full with batter.

Bake at 350 degrees approx. 18-20 minutes.

Makes 12 muffins.

Next time we will try these with peanut butter chips!

They are very good and very moist.

Pinterest Project #11 Removing Pen from Microfiber Couch

I had hoped to never have to use this handy tip I found on pinterest..but low and behold yesterday Miss Emm decided she was going to create a masterpiece on my couch.
YIKES!!
I found a method that uses hand sanitizer to remove ink...and it WORKS!
Originally I pinned a method for cleaning microfiber with rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle along with a white sponge and white bristle brush. I did not have any rubbing alcohol on hand but I did have hand sanitizer..which is made of mainly alcohol. SO...see the pictures below at how well this method works. You can find the method I used HERE

Here is the before Picture with Emmeline's art work....   :(  Oh and some rawhide stains from my lovely dog Rudy who likes to eat his biscuits/rawhides on the couch...blahhhhchhh!

And here is the Result after cleaning with Hand sanitizer and Elbow Grease...
Couch looks better than New! I am going to do the whole couch soon! It worked great!

Meltdown City Today and a few new paintings

So today Miss Emm went to get her haircut...this has happened before
In August...
In August the haircut was cute...pictures were taken..smiles were happening...
Dvd was on and lollipops were readily available and well received...

Today...6 months Later...it goes something like this...

Woman that is supposed to cut Miss Emms hair is late to open her shop...
Emm sits on my lap in the front seat of the car waiting..and spills an entire sippy cup of water all over her and the car...
I Thought these things were "Leak Proof"????????
Woman gets in the shop..we follow quickly behind...go to put Miss Emm into the chair...
SCREAM SCREAM SCREAM...
ELMO was of no help either..OMG..you would have thought we had taken her to the doctors for a needle!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Lollipop...No help....
Haircut happened...barely. Still looks the same to me..I wanted bangs for Emm..but her hair is too curly..blahhh
Anyway...after that...and a nap for all of us..I decided to finish a few paintings...

Please check them out if you have a chance...I also posted a new video of Miss Emm at the aquarium today..it was fun. I love this age..but at the same time...the meltdowns wear you right out..especially at my age!!!!
