Leftover Candy Craft

What to do with all the leftover candy from Valentine's day or in our case..last Easter?? LOL
We do love candy in this house but just a little bit at a time..sometimes the Easter Bunny or Cupid brings a little too much...
This was my brilliant idea to use it up. Instead of stickers and beads and glue to play with..we played with licorice, candy hearts and chocolate coins. Emm had a blast..in between bites of candy...without the glue of course. It was pretty fun..and I am glad the candy is gone for now. One more month until the Easter Bunny brings some more!

Pinterest Project #104 Halloween Witch Craft for Emmy and Me

These witches were so much fun to make.
Her hair is made out of Emm's hand prints.

Signed and dated on the back and will treasure forever.
Simple list of materials including paper plates, construction paper, glue, green paint and googly eyes!

Pinterest Project #98 Cotton Ball Ghost Halloween Toddler Project

Lots of Fun
I just cut the ghost out of cardboard and had my daughter glue the cotton balls on.
Cut the eyes out of black construction paper and glued them on too!

A flower for Mommy

My little girl painted this flower for me.
It is the most beautiful flower I will ever see.

Cracking a smile Cake!

This was my moms birthday cake.
It cracked.
I had all good intentions for this cake
It was to be beautifully iced and fluffy with pink sugar crystals all atop the peaks.
Instead...here is my flat faced cracking a smile cake!


Here is the recipe:

Take a boxed cake mix
Let your 3 year old help make it by stirring and adding all the ingredients...
So far so good
Mix Mix Mix
Pour into cake pans
Slam cake pans down to get air bubbles out...
Turn to the timer on your stove
Get distracted while setting it by your 3 year old
Do not set it
Forget how long the cake is supposed to be in the oven
Take it out too early
Let it cool completely...(umm...not so much)
Ice it beautifully and fluffy ( yeah...ok)
Let it Crack
Add googly eyes.

Simple!

Pinterest Project #57 Fine Motor Skills Play Dough and Practice Fruit Loop Tower

The original pin uses Cheerios.
We were out of Cheerios so we used Fruit Loops.

Fun and Emmeline enjoyed this. I would say definitely good practice for making bead necklaces in the near future!

Happy Valentines Day! Pinterest Project...ummm Not sure..

I can't for the life of me remember if I saw this on pinterest or not. I would think I probably did because I am not so great at coming up with cute crafty ideas like this...anyway.
We did this tonight for Miss Emmeline. I cut all the hearts out of paper and left a trail from her bedroom to her gift of the Candy/Valentines Day basket. I hope she loves it. I have set the stage forever now right? LOL
My Gommy/Grandmother used to give me a plastic heart filled with M&M's every year! I loved it
Those are memories I will never forget and I want Emm to have her memories of Valentines Day just like I did...Chocolate!!!!!!!!
I did however take credit for this Holiday. No cupid...No Santa...No tooth fairy...Just Mommy and Daddy.
 I hope she loves it.

Bunny and Emm are best Friends!

I love how this little kitty has come into our home and not only has she adjusted to Rudy...but to my 2.5 year old baby girl.
Emm will play with her and cover her up with her blanket and sing her lullabies. OMG so cute.

Bunny is super special to be even ALLOWED to play with Emm's stuffed kitty named snowball..
And even more that she shared her Blanket with her...Oh my!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Well this year was a lot different than Last year. Thank God.  Last year we were without power due to Hurricane Sandy coming through. I remember it like it was just yesterday.
I am so Thankful that this year all the little ghosts and goblins got to go trick or treating!
This was Emms first "real" trick or treating outing. We had a blast.
She was saying Trick or Treat before people could open their doors. She was so good and polite.
Mommy was Very Proud of her little pumpkin today.

Autumn Fun with Leaves and a 2 year old...excuse me...a 2 and a half year old.

Well I can give myself  FULL credit for this activity! YAY Mommy.
We did not have any pinterest project to follow.  We just went out and picked up some pretty leaves.
After drying them off and separating them we/I decided we should make something out of them.
I thought of Fall...wow..really? Yes...LOL...so we made a Turkey under a tree. I colored the tree out of crayons...next time I will paint it.
It was so much fun and Grandmom's will Love this!
I dated it and sealed them with acrylic sealer. We also glued these to acrylic canvas paper for a heavier backing.


So here is what you will need for this Project...

Google Eyes
Leaves
Glue
PAPER/Acrylic Painting Paper or Card Stock...even poster board will work well.
Imagination
FUN!
Anything else you can think of...Just have fun and create.

Pinterest Project #30 Peanut Butter Cookies...Perfection!

I had to make these cookies for my little cookie monster Emmeline Claire.
Her new hobby now is to join me on pinterest and ask me what everything is..
Well when she saw the peanut butter cookies she just had to have them.
So we made them!

They came out very soft and were really delicious. First time ever I did not freeze half the batch they were gone before it could happen.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and When do you buy a big girl bed for your toddler?

Emmeline insists on having all of her Mickey Mouse clubhouse crew in her crib...
We have taken them out a few nights off and on but she always seems to want them back...
Hardly any room left for her in the crib!!
She will be 27 months on the 22nd of this month...is it too early to get a big girl bed?
I am in no rush for it..she usually sleeps good...we do have our moments...but...
Any advice?
I have googled etc...and it looks like they say keep the crib until 3...
I would like some "real" advice so if anyone is reading my blog...and anyone can weigh in...would appreciate it....ty... :)

Sharp Legs

This is a memory post...for my little one...Emmeline Claire.
She decided to wake last night/morning at 1:45 screaming get me outta here..get me outta here...
Yeah..she is a bit dramatic...and watches too much Little Bear...
Anyway...I waited the standard..15/20 minutes before going into her room...mind you she is 26 months old now..
I get in there....she tells me to get her out of there...I tell her to go back to sleep...She tells me No Mommy...and clings on me...
So I take her out...binks in her mouth...(normally no BINKS outside of the crib)...I was tired..I broke my own rules...
She sits down on the couch next to me.
Hubby comes out from the bedroom.....he had just gotten home from work an hour prior
I had fallen to sleep on the couch.
He puts his hand on my knee...as if to say...".Shit..what are we to do?"
Emm puts her hand on my other knee and says this....
"Mommy...you have sharp legs"
( I did not shave my legs yesterday)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL LOL LOL LOL
I almost died on the couch at 2am...
How can I look at this precious child of mine at 2am and not laugh...
I laughed...just tried to hide it under the covers...I do not know if that worked or not...LOL

How did this happen...because I really feel like I just left the hospital...thinking to myself..."now what do I do?"
So we had the Mickey Mouse Birthday...I posted about the lovely straws I purchased...and I planned to have a themed out party with like everything matching...you know...like you see on Pinterest...
Yeah....well it did not work out that way...it was a bit a bit of a mish mosh... :)
It was a lot of fun and Emmeline enjoyed the day so much. She loved her Mickey Cake from BJ's wholesale...20.00...ummm..can't beat that price...and it was GOOD!

Americana Sleep...Errrrrr...SHEEP!

Finally able to paint a bit since Miss Emm is sleeping again...
Does this ever level off? She will be 2 next week...
For the most part she sleeps very good but lately...OH NOoooo...Not so much.
I think it is molars? Right..yahh...that would be it..I have been saying teething since she was about 3 months..I think I will stick with that.... :)

I cannot believe my little Emm is turning 2 years old in 21 days!

I am planning a Mickey Mouse Party...
We will see how I do right....So far I have invitations and straws...
Hmmm...that should work out...

Here is my pretty little Easter Baby..
